Our congregation holds our first ever Musician-in-Residence Shabbat, with Cantor Rosalie Will on Friday-Saturday, April 25-26, 2026, for a number of opportunities to celebrate Jewish music and sing out with joy!
Join us for these special events (times TBA):
Friday, April 25:
Special pre-Shabbat session with Sinai Chorus
6:00pm celebratory Shabbat service, with Cantor Rosalie Will, joined by special guest Cantor Ellen Dreskin
Saturday, April 26:
Shabbat morning singing workshop and alternative Shabbat service, in Weintraub Community Room
Saturday evening Havdalah program of singing, stories and special guest musicians
Cantor Will is founder and Executive Director of Sing Unto God, which trains song leaders and Jewish worship service leaders, and she serves as lead consultant for the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) on issues related to music and worship. She previously served as cantor of Temple Emanuel in Kensington, Maryland, in the suburbs of Washington DC. She was ordained a cantor at HUC-JIR in New York, and is a product of URJ Camps and NFTY. She lives in a Maryland suburb of DC with her daughters and her husband.
Cantor Ellen Dreskin is a former congregational cantor, and is the former Associate Dean of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR). She visited as a music and worship consultant to Temple Sinai in 2005.
Temple Sinai’s Musician-in-Residence program is funded by a generous anonymous annual grant creating this program. We are grateful to launch this program for the first year! Watch for more details to come!
