Exploring the Culture of Weimar Garmany

Taught by Temple Sinai member Marvin Kabakoff

This three session offering will explore the amazing cultural explosion of Weimar Germany, 1918-33. The class will start with the historical background Weimar, laying out the political and economic situation, and then look at the music and theater of the period, the art and architecture, the literature and philosophy, the incredible film industry, and the freedom of sexual expression.

Marvin Kabakoff has a B.A. from Brandeis and a Ph.D. in European History from Washington University, St. Louis, and worked as an archivist for the National Archives for many years. He has taught for Temple Israel Life Long Learning, and Rainbow Life Long Learning, as well as being an adjunct professor in various places.
