Donation Opportunities

Adult Learning Fund: Supports classes/educational opportunities for adults by the Adult Learning Committee.

Assistant Rabbi’s G’milut Chasadim Discretionary Fund:  Enables the Assistant Rabbi to give charity, scholarships and support to those in need.

Board Fund:  For use by the Board for life cycle events of Board members.

Building Fund:  For capital improvements and major repairs to the building.

Rabbi Beryl D. Cohon Memorial Fund:  Annually sponsors a lecture on an aspect of  American Jewish life, in memory of the founding rabbi of Temple Sinai.

Caring Committee Fund:  Supports the activities of the Caring Committee.

Education Fund:  Supports school programs/functions.

Educator Fund:  Supplements the school principal’s salary.

Aryeh Friedman Fund:  Supports the work of the Caring Committee.

Interfaith Program Fund:   Supports interfaith programming at Temple Sinai.

Israel Education & Action Fund:  Supports the work of the Israel Committee at Temple Sinai.

Kahn/Lemlein Fund:  Supports innovative educational programming for children or adults.

Kallen Leaders Fund:  Provides scholarships to Temple students for Jewish summer camp & other activities

Larkin Library Fund:  Funds purchase of books for the school, library, rabbi and sanctuary.

Memorial Fund:  For memorial plaques and to publish the annual Book of Remembrance on Yom Kippur.  Call the Temple Office for more information.

Michelman Family Bar/Bat Mitzvah Fund:  Provides funds to assist needy families with expenses related to Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

MPR Fund:  Supports the activities of the Music, Prayer and Ritual Committee at Temple Sinai.

Passover Music Festival Fund:  Supports the annual Passover Music Festival.

Prayerbook Fund:  Used to purchase prayer books and Torah commentaries.

Rainbow Fund:  Supports the work of the Rainbow Committee to ensure a warm and welcoming environment for gays, lesbians, transgendered and bisexuals within our Temple community.

Bornstein Shoher Fund:  Provides scholarships to Temple Sinai students for Jewish summer camp, Israel experience or youth group activities.

Lillian and Abe Shulman Leadership Development Fund:  Assists in sending members to URJ events such as biennials and regional meetings or other leadership development meetings or programs.

Mollie & Aaron Sibley Fund:  Provides scholarships to Temple Sinai students for Jewish summer camp, Israel experience or youth group activities.

Social Action Fund:  Supports the activities of the Tzedek@Sinai committee.

Amelia & Julian Solinger Library Fund:  Funds the purchase of books for the school, library, rabbi and sanctuary.

Temple (General) Fund:  Supports the daily activities of the Temple.

Thurer Scholar-in-Residence Fund:  Supports Temple Sinai’s scholar-in-residence program.

Rabbi Frank and Beth Waldorf School Fund:  Provides scholarships to Temple Sinai students for Jewish summer camp, trip to Israel or youth group activities.

Howard and Arlene Weintraub Fund for Extraordinary Events:   Provides support for exceptional programming or for use in urgent situations

Howard and Arlene Weintraub Fund for Excellence in Music:  Provides support for enhanced or additional music programming and/or to supplement the salary of a cantor, cantorial soloist, music teacher, band or other musician.

Harry Wheeler Memorial Fund:  Provides funds for the flowers and oneg on the night of the presentation of the Harry Wheeler Distinguished Service Award.

Youth Fund:  Finances special youth group activities and scholarships.

Louis Zonderman Memorial Fund:  Supports intergenerational programs for school children of middle and high school age
