Temple Sinai, Brookline hosts 3-congregation observance of Tisha B'Av, July 29 Special Tisha B’Av Services at Temple Sinai, Brookline, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 8 pm:

Temple Sinai invites the community to join us to observe the solemn day of Tisha B’Av (the 9th day of the month of Av), on Wednesday, July 29, at 8:00 p.m. Tisha B’Av is the day on the Jewish calendar marking the destructions of the two Temples in Jerusalem in ancient times, as well as the expulsions of Jews from Spain in 1492 and from England in 1290.

Each year, members of the three Brookline-area Reform congregations, Temple Sinai, Temple Israel and Temple Ohabei Shalom, gather on the evening of Tisha B’Av for a beautiful joint service to observe this day of mourning on the Jewish calendar.  This year, Temple Sinai will host our Brookline Reform congregations’ service on Wednesday, July 29, at 8:00 p.m.

Temple Sinai is located at 50 Sewall Avenue in Coolidge Corner, Brookline.  For more information call 617-277-5888, or visit www.sinaibrookline.org .
