| Free Will Annual Campaign
This is an exciting time in the life of Temple Sinai. We continue to build for the future under Rabbi Vogel’s leadership. We have a wonderful cantor in Rosalie Toubes, who joined Temple Sinai in July 2006. Rabbi Vogel likes to quote a familiar line from the section of Talmud called Pirke Avot (Teachings of the Sages). It reads, "The whole world rests on three pillars: on Torah, on worship, and on deeds of love and kindness." Those are, indeed, the pillars of Temple Sinai. Every week, children and adults study Torah - broadly defined. Every week, worship uplifts us and helps us to seek our truest selves. Informed by our study and strengthened by our worship, we strive to heal the world. Through efforts like those of the Caring Committee, we tend to the needs of our own community. Through social action projects like our participation in Family Table, we reach out more broadly.
Torah and tradition provide the pillars. but a house built only of pillars is a cold and drafty place. We need walls. Those "walls", from teachers in the religious school to beautiful music in the sanctuary to oil in the furnace, cost money. Dues and tuition cover the majority of our expenses but donations, especially donations to the annual Free Will campaign, keep us alive. Your donations mean that inability to pay doesn't keep someone else out of our community. We do a lot with what we have. There is so much more we could do if we had the resources. Please continue to help us.
