| Free 3-session course on "Tzedakah" at Temple Sinai, Brookline
The Jewish mitzvah of Tzedakah, providing funds to the needy, is a Jewish obligation of central importance. In a world where our resources are limited, however, the questions of how we fulfill this mitzvah, and how we achieve real economic justice in our society, are not simple. Starting on Sunday, March 2, Temple Sinai begins a new class “The Ethics of Giving: Tzedakah, Justice & ‘The Other’,” taught by Temple Sinai’s Rabbi Andy Vogel. Participants will study classic Jewish texts that challenge our thinking about the distribution of wealth and resources, and creating a just society. The class will meet on three Sunday mornings, March 2, 9 and 16, from 9:30 am – 11:00 am.
Temple Sinai is located at Sewall and Charles Street, one block southeast of the Coolidge Corner “T” stop. There is no deadline for registration. To register, please call the Temple Sinai office at 617-277-5888. Temple Sinai is handicapped accessible. Visit us at
