Enrichment Activities

Kindergarten

Focuses on Jewish holidays, Jewish home and family life, aleph-bet letter recognition, mitzvot and Torah.   Arts and crafts are an important part of the lesson.

Grade One

Focuses on Torah, mitzvot , holidays and blessings, plus a reading readiness program to introduce students to the names and sounds of the Hebrew letters.

Grade Two

In addition to studying holidays, blessings, Hebrew vocabulary and Torah, students are introduced to Hebrew vowels and begin to develop decoding skills.

Grade Three

Students will learn to read and write Hebrew in preparation for their Siyyum Ha Sefer service.   Curriculum also includes music, Torah and Israeli geography.

Grade Four

Students expand Hebrew reading and writing skills, and study holidays, music, ethics, midrash , and current events.   Students will also explore the ancient prophets.

Grade Five

Focus is on Kings, Later Prophets and Writings.   Other topics include an interactive Israel curriculum, current events, music and bibliodrama.   Modern Hebrew will be introduced.

Grade Six, Seven

Jewish history beginning with our earliest ancestors in the Land of Israel and continuing through the nineteenth century will be a major focus.   Ethics and Modern Hebrew will be emphasized.
