Israel film “Encounter Point” and discussion program at Temple Sinai, Brookline, Sunday November 18, 4:30-6:30 pm:
Temple Sinai in Brookline welcomes the public to a free screening of the Israeli film “Encounter Point,” directed by Ronit Avni and Julia Bach. This film was created by a Palestinian, Israeli, North and South American team, and tells the story of an Israeli settler, a Palestinian ex-prisoner, a bereaved Israeli mother and a wounded Palestinian bereaved brother who risk their safety and public standing to press for an end to the conflict. “Encounter Point” won the 2006 Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Rencontres Film Festival in Montreal and the 2006 San Francisco International Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary. The screening will be followed by a discussion of the complex issues raised in the film.
