Dr. Arthur Green lecture and study sessions at Temple Sinai November 2 and 3 Dr. Arthur Green speaking on “Seek My Face, Speak My Name: New Directions in Jewish Theology” at Temple Sinai, Brookline on November 2, 7:30 pm:

 

Dr. Arthur Green, a leading authority on contemporary Jewish spirituality, will give this year’s annual Beryl D. Cohon Memorial Lecture at Temple Sinai in Brookline, speaking on the topic “Seek My Face, Speak My Name: New Directions in Jewish Theology” at Erev Shabbat services on Friday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m.  Study with Dr. Green continues on Saturday, November 3, with a morning session at 9 am on “Introduction to Mysticism,” and an afternoon session starting at 5 pm on “Rabbi Nahman of Bratslav: A Hasidic Master for Moderns.”  The lecture and study sessions are free and the public is welcome. 
 
An ordained rabbi and major figure among Boston’s Jewish scholars, Dr. Green is Lown Professor of Jewish Thought at Brandeis University, Rector of the Rabbinical School program at Hebrew College in Newton, and the former president of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia.  Dr. Green has authored, co-authored, and edited books including: Ehyeh: A Kabbalah for Tomorrow (a National Jewish Book Award finalist); Jewish Spirituality, volumes 1 & 2, Seek My Face, Speak My Name: A Contemporary Jewish Theology; Your Word Is Fire: The Hasidic Masters on Contemplative Prayer; and  A Guide to the Zohar, among many other books and articles about Judaism, spirituality and spiritual renewal.
