Social Action at SinaiClick here to find out about Social Action events over the next 12 months.
Some people find their deepest connection to Judaism through the practice of tikkun olam – “repairing the world.” At Temple Sinai, this is expressed through a strong commitment to social action – making the world a better place by giving of our time, our energy, and our hearts. The Social Action Committee coordinates a wide variety of community projects for members of all ages to fulfill their commitment to tikkun olam . These include actively supporting Family Table by collecting food and paper goods to be distributed to needy families throughout the Jewish community; our High Holiday Food Drive, where we collect food for the Growth Clinic for Children at Boston Medical Center; Project Ezra, where Jewish volunteers work in various community service programs on Christmas Day so that Christian volunteers may spend the day with their families; and the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Shabbat, held each year in March, where temple members purchase bunches of daffodils to decorate the bima. | One of many Temple Sinai Mitzvah Day 2005 teams prepared meals.
