4-Week Sunday Morning Class “The Amidah:From the Bible to the Talmud to our Hearts” Jan 2007 Advanced 4-Week Sunday Morning Class “The Amidah: From the Bible to the Talmud to our Hearts,” at Temple Sinai, Brookline, Sundays, starting January 21, 2007

Temple Sinai invites the community to join us on four Sundays, January 21 & 28, and February 4 & 11, from 9:30 –11:00 am, for an advanced class “The Amidah: From the Bible to the Talmud to our Hearts,” with Rabbi Reuven Cohn.  There is a participant fee of $60 per person for this course.

Rabbi Cohn will lead an examination of the relationship between the rhythm of the opening passages of the Amidah (the petitionary section of the Jewish worship service) and their deeper meaning. The class will study Biblical texts absorbed by the rabbinic authors of the Amidah when they created these passages some 1,500-plus years ago.  The ultimate goal of this class is to deepen the ability to pray.  No Hebrew is required.  All are welcome!   Advance registration is recommended.  Call 617-277-5888 for more information.
