Confirmation

Coming at the end of the 10th grade, Confirmation is traditionally the culmination of our “Hebrew High School” experience (described more fully here). Throughout Hebrew High our students are engaged at a very adult level of learning and discussion. Teens are presented with a variety of curriculum options, and choose topics that are of interest to them. They regularly have dinner together, building a strong community of lifelong friends.

Meeting once a week on Tuesday evenings, the Confirmation class is taught by Rabbi Vogel. During the Confirmation year students pick a topic, prepare an in-depth paper, and present their work to the Education Committee during a celebratory Shavuot service that they conduct themselves. This service draws on the personal expressions and styles of the teens involved, and is a warm and memorable celebration for families and friends.
